Melton's Macmillan coffee mornings are a sweet success

Coffee and cakes was the theme of the day last Friday as shops, schools and groups across Melton took part in Macmillan Cancer Support's World's Biggest Coffee Morning.

Last year, hundreds of coffee mornings took place across the country raising nearly £25 million for the charity and once again this year Melton’s community organisations and businesses were hell bent on raising as much as they could for the cause.

Janet Gilchrist, of the Macmillan Cancer Support Melton group, said: “It’s great that so many people get involved. This year it looks as though there was plenty of activity going on across the borough.”
