Mark Faulkner, of Doctors Lane, completed The Outlaw Half Nottingham 70.3-mile triathlon, which consisted of a 1.2 mile water swim, 56 mile bike ride and a 13.1 mile run.

The thirty-year-old dad did it in six hours and 34 minutes and has raised funds for The Team Rossi Foundation, a charity set up to put a smile on children’s faces who suffer from leukaemia.

Mark who is part owner of Elaine’s Taxis is set to take part in the Road2Recovery half marathon, organised by Claire Lomas on Sunday.

He said: “The last five miles of the triathlon run hurt but it was a fantastic feeling crossing the line with my daughter, wife and my friend’s child Oscar, who had leukaemia, and his sister.

“The training has really paid off and I have raised £1,610 so far which I can’t quite believe.

“I have had a week of rest and I’m now back on the training, and ready for my half marathon. The support has been fantastic and I can’t thank people enough.”
