Melton puts on another jolly good show and festival

Crowds braved the ever-changing bank holiday weather to support the annual Melton Show and Festival.

Despite the rain showers, thousands of people packed into Play Close to have a good time and experience all the fun of the fair.

Organiser Ashley Wood said: “It’s always a pleasant stop when we visit Melton but unfortunately the weather played havoc and just wasn’t on our side this year.

People made a real effort to come on the Monday which was the last day however, the rain put paid to some of the planned performances in the arena such as the bikes stunt team.

“The footfall was slightly down on last year because of this, though we are looking forward to returning in 2020 already.”

The main attractions included a fun dog show, birds of prey, circus skills and a craft marquee.

As well as these, there was charity stalls, car trade stands, hook-a-duck, a fun house, bouncy slides, trampolines, dodgems, mini rollercoasters and rides, tombolas and an ice cream van.
