King Street fundraiser in memory of Leah

A fundraising event will be held this evening (Friday) in memory of Asfordby teenager, Leah Reek, who was killed in an explosion in Leicester.

It will take place in King Street from 6pm with live music and a bar - it is free to attend but donations are requested in aid of LOROS, the hospice charity where Leah was a volunteer

Leah’s family and friends have raised more than £30,000 for LOROS over the last two years and mum Joanne and sister Molly took part in the charity’s annual Twilight Walk fundraiser.

Leah died in February 2018 with boyfriend Shane Ragoobeer, his mother Mary and brother Sean when the blast happened in a shop below the apartment they were in at the time.

Three men were convicted in January 2019 of murder and causing the explosion and are serving life sentences.
