Coronavirus: Parking now free in Melton Council car parks
Parkers are advised to keep their distance from other drivers and leave gaps between vehicles to help limit the spread of the bug.
A statement from Melton Borough Council reads: “In line with government guidance, free parking has been introduced on council-owned car parks to support NHS workers and those helping vulnerable people.

“Although the car parks remain open, all residents should still adhere to the government guidelines on social-distancing.
“Car parks should only be used to support essential travel and, when parking, residents should be mindful to leave adequate space between each vehicle. “This decision will be reviewed on a regular basis and amended to reflect any changes in the guidance.”
The council car parks where parking is now are on Scalford Road, Burton Street, Mill Street, Wilton Road, St Mary’s Way, Chapel Street and at Waterfield Leisure centre.
