Bottesford Irish dancers through to national final

A group of young Irish dancers from Bottesford have reached the finals of a national dance competition.

The 30 Irish dancers from Bottesford Primary School, aged between five and 11, won the primary school category in the regional final of the Great Big Dance Off, held at the Albert Hall in Nottingham.

The dancers will compete in the national final in Birmingham on July 11.

Dance teacher Caroline Hunt, who runs the Caroline Mcmanus School of Irish Dancing, said: “I am so proud of them. I am absolutely delighted. They all danced amazingly well.”

Last year the dancers also achieved success, reaching the national final and coming fifth.
