He said: “It’s a privilege to support an organisation which is showing practical love and care for those who are in need in rural sub-Saharan Africa.”

The Catholic Diocese of Nottingham covers Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Rutland and Lincolnshire including St John the Baptist, St Peter’s and St Francis Convent Chapel in Melton.

Established in 1974, Inter Care sends recycled surplus quality medicines which would otherwise be incinerated, along with healthcare goods such as dressings and instruments to rural health units in some of the poorest parts of Africa.
