People in Melton could win £5,000 in Rainbows' Big Christmas Raffle
Tickets are now available for the raffle which raises funds for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People – the only hospice in the East Midlands to provide care and support to children and young people with life-limited and terminal illnesses, including those from Leicestershir
Now in its 10th year, the raffle – which was previously known as the Superdraw – plays a crucial part in raising the necessary funds needed to keep Rainbows running each year. Last year’s Superdraw raised £27,000 for the work of the charity.

As well as the top prize of £5,000, which has been increased from £3,000, cash prizes of £250, £100 and £50 are up for grabs. The draw will take place on Friday, December 16, and tickets, which cost just £1, can be purchased until Monday, December 9.
Gill Smitherman, donor development manager at Rainbows, said: “Our raffles are one of the hospice’s biggest income streams and by just buying one ticket; you’ll be making a difference to lives of the children, young people and families we support each and every day.
“Buying a book of tickets could help to fund two days’ worth of oxygen for a child at Rainbows and two books of raffle tickets worth £20 could help to fund a music therapy.
“Sadly, Christmas isn’t always a happy occasion for the families who are supported by Rainbows. You can help us to continue providing care to those who need it the most by supporting our Big Christmas Raffle, which would make a wonderful Christmas gift to those here at Rainbows.”

Tickets can also be bought at the Rainbows shop in Melton, Sherrard Street.
