Nominations are sought for Mayor’s Awards

Have your say

Mayor of Melton John Wyatt is searching for nominations for the 2015 Mayor’s Awards.

There are three categories to put people forward for.

The Award of Merit recognises those who make a voluntary and selfless contribution.

The Melton Borough Award acknowledges those who contribute to the life of the borough which could be through their paid work.

The Young Citizen Award recognises the positive role young people play in the community.

Mr Wyatt said: “The Mayor’s Awards are a celebration of the highest ideals of citizenship in our community – to recognise individuals and groups who give of their time to improve the lives of those around them.

“With tight budgets in every sector of our community, many essential things would not get done if it wasn’t for such selfless people.

“There is also so much voluntary work happening all around us and it is important that we acknowledge this and say thank you. Help me to do this by sending in your nominations.”

To nominate a person or organisation for any of the award categories you can complete an online nomination form by visiting, call the Mayor’s office on (01664) 502314 or email for a form.
