NEWSFLASH: Fire at Melton property destroys garage and car on driveway
Firefighters tackled a blaze at a Melton address today (Sunday, January 31) which gutted a garage and a car on the driveway.
A fire crew from Melton was first to arrive at the scene in Field Close and called for a second engine to attend from Oakham.
Firefighters, who were called to the scene at about 11.40am, found the single garage and car were well alight. The blaze had also spread to the back of a property

Hide AdThey tackled the blaze using one main jet, one hose reel and two breathing apparatus. Firefighters also checked adjacent homes for any fire spread by carefully removing tiles.
The garage and car were gutted by the fire, with some heat damage also caused to the owner’s property in Field Close and to a neighbouring property.
A fire service spokeswoman said the apparent cause of the blaze was accidental.
