A brand new Marie Curie Cancer Care shop will be officially opened in Melton on Thursday (March 12).
Alec Barclay, head of shops at Marie Curie, will cut the ribbon at 1.30pm and welcome customers into the shop in Nottingham Street.
The new shop will raise funds to support Marie Curie Nurses who work in the local community and make it possible for terminally ill people to spend their final days at home.
Mr Barclay said: “We’re delighted to be trading in Melton and I’m extremely thankful to all our hard-working staff and volunteers who have rallied round to get the new shop up and running.
“I hope people will pop by our fantastic new shop, meet the team and have a look through our wide range of high quality items at really great prices.
“Every purchase will help Marie Curie Nurses care for more people with terminal illnesses who wish to spend their final days at home.”
Staff and volunteers will gratefully receive any unwanted clothing, books and bric-a-brac – and don’t forget to ask how to make even more of your donation through Gift Aid.
Anyone interested in volunteering at the shop can call shop manager Joanne Chapman on (01664) 565831.
