Launched by Leicestershire County Council, the online diary chronicles the vital work of individuals working across the authority every day with schools, police, the NHS and others.

Councillor Ivan Ould, cabinet member for children and families, said: “This blog gives people a glimpse into the work that goes on to keep children safe, through the eyes of our staff who have child protection at the heart of everything they do.

“There are so many stories to tell, from child protection social workers, people who recruit foster carers, individuals who diligently support children in in care, to those who work directly with families in need of extra help and support.

“I’m proud of the hard work that goes on and feel it’s important that we showcase it.”

Ranging from child protection, CSE, youth offending services, early help to foster care work, the blog will share staff experiences and promote how the council makes a difference to young people’s lives.

The blog will consist of a mix of written diary-style entries, videos and photos.
