Community champions are needed to breathe new life into Melton’s Neighbourhood Watch Scheme.

Melton was dubbed the UK’s first Neighbourhood Watch town two years ago.

But later this month three of the scheme’s driving forces are stepping down - chairman Eric Tindall. Melton North manager Shane Mousley and email manager Glynn Cartwright.

The AGM of the Melton Mowbray, Asfordby villages and Burton Lazars Neighbourhood Watch will be held at Melton Council’s Parkside offices on Tuesday, April 21 (6.30pm for 7pm start). Current vacancies include chairman, secretary, ward managers and email managers. People should register their intention to attend by emailing by April 18.
