A Melton firm is backing a new Leicestershire charity set up by an athlete who contracted cancer.
Samworth Brothers has chosen MOVE as one of its charities of the year and is giving it financial and team support. The charity was set up by county athlete Gemma Hillier Moses who was diagnosed with stage three cancerin 2012.
She said: “I founded MOVE to ensure no young person would face the struggles I did and to support, guide and provide a platform for young people to take control back and provide a positive focus both during and after cancer treatment.
The aim of the charity is to enable children and young people with cancer to engage in physical activity in a positive way.
A charity ball will be held at The City Rooms, Leicester, on Friday, October 7, from 7pm to 1am. Tickets are £65 and include a two-course meal with prosecco on arrival. There will be a guest speaker and live music. To buy tickets email firstname.lastname@example.org
