The Mayor will be broadcasting from a pop-up studio at More Coffee Co in Market Place from 8am until 8pm, with the help of the station’s usual Saturday presenters: Steve Hack, Simon Nicholas, JJB and Paul Anthony.

People can pop in and have a song dedication played in return for a donation and there will be a bucket collection at the event.

The Mayor’s Appeal is for Emmaus, a charity aiming to end homelessness, and the Belvoir Cricket and Countryside Trust which helps disadvantaged youngsters by enabling them to learn to play cricket and enjoy the countryside.

Funds raised for 103 The Eye will go towards essential repairs and improvements to the radio station’s broadcasting and studio equipment.

The Mayor, who is a regular volunteer on the station as a member of the community focus sunday morning presentation team, said: “I’m so excited about this and let’s hope we can get some great funds raised on Saturday.”

Sponsorship of the whole day is also invited. For details email [email protected] or phone (01664) 565315.
