Kids relish Easter fun at church event

Children had a cracking time at an Easter activities morning held in Melton's St Mary's Church.

Youngsters were able to make bunny masks, bookmarks, crosses and nests as well as take part in an egg hunt.

Police community support officers Lorren Shacklock and Andrea Kemp popped by to join in the fun and the Easter bunny greeted children as they arrived.

For those with a head for heights there was also the chance to climb 143 steps to the top of the chuch tower and nine-year-old Hannah Neale, won a giant Easter egg weighing one kilogram.

A spokesperson for the church said: “One of the day’s star attractions was Terry Ide’s popular art corner where the children able to add to a memory quilt.

“Tea and coffee and refreshments were on offer throughout the morning and for those less energetic and a little older there was the opportunity to sit and read the day’s newspapers.”

The next two St Mary’s Church activities mornings will be held on Saturday, April 9 and May 14.
