Admission is £3 and refundable if £10 minimum sponsorship is gained.

There will be medals for finishers as well as prizes for best fancy dress and most sponsorship.

From 12 noon there is also a BBQ with a performance from John Rockliffe at 2-5pm.

Other attractions include a bouncy castle, face painting, stalls, raffle and tyre tennis.

Patrick Wainwright, Hamilton United manager, said: “Chris used to be a regular at the Burmese Cat pub and played a few times for the football team. He was a friend and colleague to many people.”
