Biffa bosses also said a members’ survey conducted earlier this year showed that over 95 per cent of respondents were satisfied with the club and reliability of its fortnightly service and over nine out of 10 members also felt it delivered value for money.

Biffa’s national Green Waste Club manager Lucy Stephens said: “The vast majority of members rate the club highly which shows we’re meeting their expectations. The club’s current near 8,000 members in Melton have so far helped to recycle 10,228 tonnes of garden waste which is turned into compost, helping to improve the environment by diverting waste from expensive landfill.”
