A reader who was disgusted to come across a large collection of fly-tipped bathroom fixtures and fittings on a country track sent us this photograph he took of the scene.
Alan Sunderland encountered the discarded rubbish on a route close to Burton Brook at Burton Lazars which is used regularly by people walking their dogs.
He said it was clear the offender deliberately left it all in open countryside because it was dumped on a cart track well away from the main road.
Mr Sunderland said, with a hint of sarcasm: “To the person who decided to renovate their bathroom over the Easter weekend: well done for being so industrious, and I must say you chose a pleasant spot to leave the junk.
“I’m sure most readers will agree it adds an interesting contrasting touch to an otherwise green landscape.”
He added: “It’s the first time I’ve seen any tipping in the area which I have walked with our dog for the past two years.
“We have lived on the edge of Melton since 1998 and Burton is normally one of the nearest places for a pleasant walk in unspoiled country.”
