Children at Sherard Primary School learned how to make a pizza during a visit to a restaurant in Melton this week.
Thirty excited Year 3 youngsters in Year 3 from the school visited Pizza Express on Thursday as part of their current topic on Italian food.
Pupils donned chef’s hats and aprons and crafted their own classic pizza. Each child tasted a variety of toppings used at the restaurant and learnt about the origin of the ingredients.
Year 3 teacher Moya Hill said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful experience and some are already talking about becoming chefs.
“Pupils were able to take their boxed pizzas home at the end of the day to share with their families.
“We would like to thank everyone involved at Pizza Express for their generosity and for giving our children this fantastic opportunity.”
Pizza Express assistant manager Agnieszka Dajczak-Stolowska added: “All the children who came on the day had a great time and it was nice to see so many smiley faces making Margherita pizzas.”
