Frisby Church of England Primary School’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) are trying to raise funds to develop a pond and wildlife area.
The school has applied to the Aviva Community Grant and need public votes to be successful with this bid.
The (PTA) are responsible for helping the school with a number of small projects and equipment to enhance the children’s learning experiences.
Lindsay Apps, secretary of Frisby PTA said: “We want to do something big, something that will make a difference to the way our children learn and give them educational experience they can’t get inside the classroom.
“We are proposing to develop an unused pond and its surrounding area of woodland, making the pond safe and developing the surrounding area into a sensory garden and woodland trail.
“Children don’t just learn by listening, they need to see, touch, smell, experiment, explore and this new area will give them exactly that.”
Lindsay said it will be an exciting and safe are right outside the classroom which will give the children the chance to learn about the environment and nature.
Voting closes on Saturday, May 30. To vote for Frisby Primary School visit https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/Project/View/2818
