Thrilled pupils at a Melton special school will be wearing their colours with pride thanks to help from the town’s TSB bank.
The bank held an event at its High Street branch aiming to raise funds so that sixth form pupils could wear red, yellow and green T-shirts to represent their house colours as part of team building exercises such as sports days.
A selection of cakes and books were sold at the bank which raised just £290.
Claire Wood, of Birch Wood School, said: “The event was a huge success and the students were thrilled to achieve their goal.
“We’re extremely grateful to TSB for its support and enthusiasm.”
Melton TSB manager Nupti Unka said: “I was thrilled to be approached by the Birch Wood students and asked to support their fundraising quest for new T-shirts.
“My team worked really hard putting in their own time and effort into baking cakes to make the cake and book sale a real success. A big thank you to our customers for all of their support on the day.”
Birch Wood School caters for pupils aged four to 19 who may be described as having moderate or severe learning difficulties.
