Driver killed in collision involving car and mini bus in Grimston

A passenger was killed in a collision involving a car and a minibus in Grimston, near Melton, yesterday (Sunday, June 26).

A silver Nissan Micra was travelling on Ostler Lane, towards Six Hills Lane, when it was involved in the collision with a white Ford minibus. The mini bus was driving on Six Hills Lane, towards its junction with Ostler Lane. Both vehicles left the road.

A passenger in the Nissan was killed in the collision. At the time of going to press the driver and a second passenger, who suffered life-threatening injuries, were in the Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) in Nottingham. They’re condition wasn’t known at the time of going to press.

The driver of the minibus received minor injuries and was checked over at the QMC before being discharged. The two passengers were not injured.

Oakham Police tweeted at 10.40pm last night saying that officers had spent several hours at the collision scene.

Leicestershire Police is appealing to anyone who saw the collision or either vehicle prior to the incident to call them on 101, quoting incident number 16000167546.
