Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland is calling on the public to join in with their Big Bag Challenge and donate pre-loved items to one of its charity shops.
The Big Bag Challenge is running until Monday, May 11, to give people plenty of time to donate as many bags of quality goods, including clothing, shoes, books and accessories, as possible to their local Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland shop. The aim is to get 20 extra bags of saleable stock into every one of our shops by mid-May.
Tony Donovan, executive director of Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland, said: “It seems that we all could benefit from a good sort out at home. Instead of letting clothes and other items gather dust or take up valuable space at home, your items could be sold on to be loved again, helping generate much-needed funds for the charity’s work with older people.”
The money raised from The Big Bag Challenge will help Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland to continue to support local older people who are facing later life alone, enabling them to provide befriending, support and advice.
