Crowds cheer torch through town
CHEERING crowds lined Nottingham Street and the Market Place as the Olympic torch passed through the town.
There was a carnival atmosphere as sponsors handed out gifts and entertained the onlookers before the procession arrived.
BBC Radio Leicester were also broadcasting from a stage in the Market Place.
John Southerington carried the torch along Nottingham Street to the Corn Cross.
John was nominated afer raising more than £0,000 for charity.
