Woman told to pay £500 to victim in assault case

THE following local cases were dealt with by magistrates sitting in Loughborough on June 18, 20 and 28:-

l Louise Wilson (19), of Welby Road, Asfordby Hill, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm on a woman in Melton on February 11. She was given a 16-week suspended prison sentence and a 12-month supervision period including 150 hours’ unpaid work. She was also ordered to pay £500 compensation to the victim.

l Gareth Pawlett (32), of Mayfield Street, Melton, admitted possessing a quantity of amphetamine in Leicester on May 20 and failing without reasonable excuse to surrender to custody at Loughborough Magistrates’ Court on June 20. He was fined £260, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Magistrates ordered for the drugs to be forfeited and destroyed.

l Benjamin Jones (20), of Sherrard Street, Melton, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour at the town’s Tubes nightclub on April 15. He was discharged conditionally for six months and ordered to pay £85 costs.

l Thomas Riley (20), of Firdale, Somerby, admitted being in charge of a vehicle in Main Street, Pickwell, while unfit to drive through drink on May 16. He was banned from driving for three months, fined £150, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

l Lucy Palmer (44), of Stamford, admitted driving with excess alcohol in Tilton Road, Twyford, on May 20. She was found to have 147mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg. Palmer was banned from driving for three years which may be reduced by nine months if she completes an approved driving course. She was also given a two-year community order and ordered to pay £85 costs.

l Patryk Sicinski (36), of Oakham, admitted attempting to steal ink cartridges from Melton’s Morrisons store on June 15. Sicinski was given a one-year community order including 80 hours unpaid work.

l Michael Coltman (56), of Rempstone, admitted driving with excess alcohol in Narrow Lane, Wymeswold, on June 3. He was found to have 80mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg. Coltman was banned from driving for 20 months which may be reduced by five months if he completes an approved driving course. He was also fined £290, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

l Shamim Ahmed (29), of Birmingham, admitted speeding on the A46 at Thrussington on November 6. He was recorded at 98mph. The limit is 70mph. He was fined £180, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £60 costs. His licence was endorsed with six penalty points.

l Ann Graham (49), of Reeth Close, Leicester, admitted speeding on the A46 at Thrussington on October 16. She was recorded at 81mph. The limit is 70mph. She was fined £70 and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge. Her licence was also endorsed with three penalty points.

l Aran Lane (29), of Larkhill, Wiltshire, admitted speeding on the A46 at Thrussington on November 7. He was recorded at 81mph. The limit is 70mph. He was fined £133, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £60 costs. His licence was also endorsed with three penalty points.

l Andrew Marriott (45), of Scraptoft, Leicester, admitted speeding on the A46 at Thrussington on November 6. He was recorded at 84mph. The limit is 70mph. He was fined £117, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £60 costs. His licence was also endorsed with three penalty points.

l Ashraf Massadeh (32), of Nottingham, admitted speeding on the A46 at Thrussington on November 13. He was recorded at 96mph. The limit is 70mph. He was fined £133, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £60 costs. His licence was also endorsed with six penalty points.

l Kevin McGee (44), of County Durham, admitted speeding on the A46 at Thrussington on November 6. He was recorded at 81mph. The limit is 70mph. He was fined £150, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £60 costs. His licence was also endorsed with three penalty points.

l Stephen McCullock (44), of Leicester, was found guilty in his absence of speeding on the A46 at Thrussington on November 1. He was recorded at 82mph. The limit is 70mph. He was fined £200, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs. His licence was also endorsed with three penalty points.

l Kevin West (32), of West Heath, Birmingham, was found guilty in his absence of speeding on the A46 at Thrussington on November 11. He was recorded at 86mph. The limit for the vehicle he was driving is 60mph. He was fined £400, ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs. His licence was also endorsed with five penalty points.
