Three shops inside Melton’s Bell Centre shopping centre have been broken into - the Melton Times understands.
The shops targeted are believed to be Voodoo Consoles, Time Out cafe and Savers. At the time of going to press it wasn’t known if anything had been taken from the shops, although it’s understood a tips jar at the cafe was raided.
Three police vehicles and a forensic investigation team attended the scene.
As previously reported by the Melton Times burglars have also smashed their way into shops in the Bowley Court shopping precinct, off Sherrard Street.
The owners of three shops in Bowley Court found out this morning (Monday, September 5) that the front doors of their units had been smashed in. The targeted shops were Bliss Beauty and Tanning, SJ’s Hair World and A Reader’s Dream. In all three cases nothing was taken.
At the time of going to press the Bell Centre was still closed to customers.
Leicestershire Police were unavailable for comment at the time of going to press.
