The following local cases were dealt with by magistrates sitting in Loughborough on July 29, August 5 and 10 and in Leicester on August 13:
Chyle McGrady (24), of Morley Close, Melton, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol, without insurance or a test certificate and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence on Melton Road, Asfordby Hill, on July 18. He was found to have 75 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg. McGrady, who also admitted assaulting a police officer in the execution of his duty on July 18, was made subject of a 12-month community order including a requirement to do 100 hours of unpaid work. He was also banned from driving for 20 months, which may be reduced by 20 weeks if he completes a course. McGrady must also pay a £60 victim surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.
Michael Andrews (34), of Baldocks Lane, Melton, pleaded guilty to speeding on the M25 at Westerham in Kent on November 16. He was fined £110, must pay a £20 victim surcharge and £150 costs. His licence was also endorsed with six penalty points.
Adrian Hill (36), of Freshney Close, Melton, pleaded guilty to driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence on the A607 at Croxton Kerrial on February 19. He was fined £50, must pay a £20 victim surcharge and £50 costs.
Lewis Rene (21), of Heathley Park, Leicester, was found guilty of damaging a kitchen door at a property on Regency Road, Asfordby, on March 2, 2014. Rene was discharged conditionally for 12 months, must pay £200 compensation, a £15 victim surcharge and £100 costs.
