Sixty drink drivers arrested as police campaign nears its end

Sixty people had been caught drink driving as Leicestershire Police’s December drink drive blitz neared its end.

Chief Inspector Phil Vickers, who has headed up the regional drink drive campaign across the East Midlands police forces, said: “Far too many people have chosen not to heed our road safety message.

“Our police patrols are operating 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week and we will catch you if you choose to drink and drive.

“Don’t take the risk of getting behind the wheel if you’ve had a drink. Get someone else to drive, or alternatively take the bus or a taxi.”
