NEWSFLASH: Melton Market managers offer £2,000 reward in bid to catch raiders who stole '˜large quantity' of money from Market Tavern

Police have just given details of the burglary which is believed to have taken place between 12.30am and 2.30am on Monday, December 21 at The Market Tavern on Scalford Road.

Officers said ‘a large quantity of money’ was taken in the burglary but haven’t given a total.

The management at Melton Mowbray Market has offered a £2,000 reward for information leading to the successful arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Carl Ball, said: “We believe the answer to who was responsible may lie within the local community.

“Have you overheard anyone talking about the burglary or do you know the identity of those involved?
