Emergency services respond after car ends up in ditch at Burton Lazars

Emergency services were alerted this morning (Monday) after a car left the road at Burton Lazars and ended up in a ditch.

Two crews of firefighters from the Melton station attended the incident, which happened on the A606 at 9.24am.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said there were reports that a person was trapped in the vehicle.

The road was closed to traffic, between the village and Leesthorpe Hill, for almost two hours before being reopened by police officers
