Police are hunting burglars who smashed their way into the Melton Country Park cafe before stealing £2,000 of motorbikes recently bought by a educational charity.
The raiders caused hundreds of pounds of damage after using a crowbar to get through two outside windows and then smashing down a door to get out.
Once inside they used bolt cutters to get through two high security chains that were around the KTM sx 85cc 2006 and Honda cr 85cc 2007 bikes.
The break-in happened at 1.15am on Monday.
The Melton Learning Hub is an alternative learning facility that offers young people who are disengaged from learning a wide variety of exciting and practical courses.
A posting on its Facebook page said: “The Melton Learning Hub is a charity and to survive needs every penny. A loss like this is massive to us.
“Whoever is responsible should hold their head in shame. It’s taken us over a year to save up for these bikes and students were loving every minute of revamping them.”
Anyone with any information about the burglary or whereabouts of the stolen off-road bikes should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
