Burglars stole an unspecified amount of cash after an overnight raid at a Melton business.
It’s understood the burglars struck at the Yorkshire Trading Company in Sherrard Street between 6pm yesterday (Wednesday) and 7.40am today (Thursday).
A Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said: “We received report at around 7.40am this morning (Thursday) about a burglary at premises on Sherrard Street, Melton.
“Entry was gained by forcing open a rear, upper floor fire exit. Damage was caused to an internal office door and a quantity of cash was taken.
“Officers are appealing for anyone with any information about the incident to call 101.”
No-one from the Yorkshire Trading Company was available for comment at the time of going to press.
