Six people have been sentenced to more than 38 years in prison for their part in the kidnap and false imprisonment of a Melton man.

The 37-year-old victim was taken from his home address on May 19 last year after a group of men forced their way in. Residents nearby reported a disturbance at the house and a complex and fast-paced investigation ensued.

It was through extensive investigations, including the trawling of CCTV and mobile phone records, along with tracking the vehicle used in the crime, that led Leicestershire Police officers to the offenders.

The four men and two women were sentenced today (Friday) at Leicester Crown Court following earlier court appearances where they either pleaded or were found guilty of the offences.

They are:

* Kenneth Wallace, 23, formally of the Nottingham area, pleaded guilty to kidnap and was sentenced to seven years, six months in prison;

* Daniel South, 31, formally of the Nottingham area, pleaded guilty to kidnap and was sentenced to seven years, six months in prison;

* Levi Wildridge, 31, formally of the Nottingham area, pleaded guilty to kidnap and was sentenced to seven years, six months in prison;

* Damien Hyland, 31, formally of the Nottingham area, pleaded guilty to kidnap and was sentenced to six years, eight months in prison;

* Alisha Campbell, 32, formally of the Nottingham area, was found guilty of false imprisonment after a trail and was sentenced to five years in prison;

* Keisha Makanjuola, 28, formally of the Nottingham area, pleaded guilty to false imprisonment and was sentenced to four years in prison.

An order under the Proceeds of Crime Act was also made directing £1,100 to be repaid by Hyland, South, Makanjuola and Campbell.

A forfeiture order was also made for the recovery of the van used in the kidnap.
