Schools, businesses and community groups across the Melton will be doing something funny for Comic Relief on Friday (March 13), with some fundraising events also being held over the weekend.
Among the many businesses getting into the spirit will be Melton’s Sainsbury’s store which is holding activities on Friday and Saturday.
Store colleagues will be ‘making their faces funny for money’, running tombola sales, getting drenched in the stocks and getting involved in other activities. The store is also hosting a pork pie raising demonstration, in collaboration with Dickinson and Morris managing director Stephen Hallam, on Saturday. In return for a donation to Comic Relief, lucky customers and store colleagues will take part in a competition to recreate the perfect pork pie - against the clock.
Meanwhile The Nottingham Building Society is taking part in a Comic Relief spin bike challenge in the Market Place on Friday. Their aim is to cycle 150 miles in a day and more importantly raise money for Comic Relief.
