Community library set to launch in East Goscote

East Goscote will become the latest community library to open next month after Leicestershire County Council hands over control to community trustees.

The library officially re-opens at 1pm on Saturday, June 4.

John Malpus, chairman of the library trustees, said: “Initially it will run as before, while the volunteers grow in confidence working there. The trustees have plans for other activities in the future.

“We’ve gratefully received help from East Goscote, Rearsby and Queniborough parish councils, Voluntary Action Leicester and the county council. We’ve also been supported by Josiah Hincks, East Goscote Pharmacy, Sileby Community Library and the community of East Goscote and the surrounding area.”
