Changes to pharmacy hours in Melton over Christmas

Boots, in Cheapside, will be closed on Christmas Day, open between 10am and 4pm on Boxing Day and December 27, closed New Year’s Day and open between 10am and 4pm on January 2.

Daynight Pharmacy, in Sherrard Street, will be open between noon and 3pm on Christmas Day and closed on Boxing Day, December 27, New Year’s Day and January 2.

Dr Aly Rashid, medical director for NHS England in Leicestershire and Rutland, said: “Pharmacists offer expert, confidential advice and treatment for many minor health problems, particularly winter illnesses such as sore throats and runny noses.

“As most GP surgeries will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day we would also encourage patients to order any medication they need in plenty of time so they have a good supply during the festive period.”
