Wait continues for decision on controversial Thorpe Satchville wind turbines

Have your say

Residents will have to wait a little longer to find out whether two wind turbines will be allowed to be built in Thorpe Satchville.

Secretary of State Eric Pickles had been expected to decide this week on the planning appeals for the turbines at Hall Farm and Park Farm.

But a Department for Communities and Local Government spokesman said a decision had been delayed as ministers were ‘still considering the very complex case.’

Melton MP the Rt Hon Sir Alan Duncan and Melton Council candidate for the Somerby ward Leigh Higgins (Con) met in Thorpe Satchville on Friday to reiterate their objections and calls for the turbines to be rejected. Sir Alan said: “We must now hope the final decision is the right one.”
