The number of people in Melton claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance has dropped by more than a third since last year according to new figures released today (Wednesday).
The claimant count for June was 252 people compared with 398 for June 2014 - a 36 per cent drop.
Melton’s Me and My Learning Centre, based at Phoenix House on Nottingham Road, is thought to be just one of the factors which has helped people get back into work by making it easier for people to access training and gain the skills they need to gain employment.
The Jobseeker’s Allowance claimant count for Leicestershire dropped from 4,994 in June 2014 to 3,649 in June 2015, an annual reduction of 1,345 claimants.
