Farmers at Somerby will be selling their milk direct to the public from tomorrow (Saturday) in response to a recent drop in the price it is being sold for nationally.
Visitors to Southfield Farm in Church Lane will be sold one-litre bottles of unpasteurised fresh milk all day by Mark and Jane Barnes.
Mrs Barnes said: “Our 140-strong herd of Pedigree Ayrshire cows are working very hard at producing this wonderful product which we are now going to start selling direct to the consumer.
“Bottles of unpasteurised farm fresh milk, which are less than a few hours old, will be available all day. Customers can buy it bottled or bring their own container.”
