Melton firm JELD-WEN, one of the town’s biggest employers, has taken on 30 new recruits at one of its sites.
The jobs have been created at Melton Mill - which manages the company’s component manufacturing.
Phil Chimento, co-ordinating general manager for stairs and the mill, said: “The mill works form an intrinsic part of JELD-WEN’s UK operations.
“We’re proud to be one of the biggest employers in Melton and keen to invest in our people to help our business to thrive. “It’s an exciting time for JELD-WEN and we’re delighted to have been able to take on additional staff as part of the business developing.”
JELD-WEN employs 500-60 staff across its three Melton sites. The UK’s leading manufacturer of timber doors, windows and stairs has also invested in new machinery and technology and staff facilities including new canteens, improved toilet and locker facilities, monitored security and Wi-Fi.
