Trainee managers from Melton and Syston have been taken on by David Wilson Homes to help run the homebuilder’s developments in the East Midlands.
Youngest of five recently taken on in the region is 22-year-old Sam Mayfield, of Melton, who is currently taking an accelerated Construction NVQ.
He said: “My family have always been very hands-on, with many members in the construction industry.
“And this inspired me to take up civil engineering. I’ve started on-site at Kingston Banks in East Leake, and I look forward to learning and progressing within the company.”
Rob Ford (34), from Syston, has been working in the homebuilding industry for a decade, starting out as a forklift truck driver, and he will be working at Papplewick Green in Nottinghamshire.
He said: “I wanted to push on with my career, and this seemed like the perfect time to get on board with the company.”
David Wilson Homes said it had taken on five new trainee managers in the region, including Sam and Rob, in response to continued growth of homebuilding in the East Midlands.
John Reddington, regional managing director for the company, said: “At David Wilson Homes we employ exceptional homebuilders and rely on our Site Managers to inspire their teams, organise their busy sites.
“We want to reward hard workers and encourage progression within the company, and we pride ourselves on being able to truly support our employees. I wish our new starters every success in their new roles and for their futures with the company.”
