Paramedics and the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance were called to Melton’s Caffe Nero in Market Place this afternoon (Friday) responding to a report of a patient having severe breathing difficulties.
An East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) spokeswoman said it received a call just after 1pm and that a fast response vehicle and community first responder unit had been sent to the scene.
A casualty was stretchered into the back of an ambulance at about 1.50pm. Their condition wasn’t known at the time of going to press.
The air ambulance was also despatched, landing in Play Close at about 1.30pm, but at the time of going to press it wasn’t known if it was needed. It’s understood the air ambulance left Play Close about 20 minutes later.
