Elizabeth McKenna, who battled her way to fourth place in Lord Sugar’s boardroom, will be talking about her experiences on the programme, which was due to launch a new series last night (Wednesday).

Fittingly, our awards ceremony will be held at Brooksby Hall, the 16th century manor house set in 850 acres.

Elizabeth knows the site well from her days as a student at Brooksby Melton College and she started her successful flower shop business after completing her Level 3 Floristry qualification there in the summer of 1997.

On her imminent return to the scene of her enjoyable college days, she said: “I started my career journey at Brooksby and I am so pleased to be coming back to share with everyone a little about how my time there has shaped me, and to celebrate all that is great about businesses in the Melton area.”

The presentation evening will take place on Friday, October 19, and will be hosted by BBC radio presenter, Melvyn Prior.

The judges will soon be busy deciding on who will be crowned winners of the various categories covering businesses and community heroes.

Tickets for the presentation evening are now available to buy from organiser, Linda Pritchard.

Call her on 01664 412507 or email [email protected] if you would like to attend.
