A Melton Times reader captured this dramatic shot of the crew of the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance attending an emergency on a Melton housing estate.

The helicopter landed at the junction of Baldocks Lane and Freeby Close on Saturday afternoon to treat a 54-year-old man who had collapsed outside his home.

A spokesperson for the air ambulance said: “We got the call at 3.13pm and were on the scene at 3.25pm. The crew gave the patient advanced life support treatment and then travelled with him to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham in a road ambulance rather than the helicopter as it was easier to do this.”

The Melton Times was unable to confirm the man’s condition at the time of going to press.
