Staff and youngsters at Brunts Farmhouse Day Nursery in Long Clawson are set to celebrate the nursery’s 25th birthday by holding a teddy bears picnic for families to attend.
The event on Saturday from (2-4pm) at the nursery includes a mini disco, soft play area activities and a balloon launch.
Brunts was originally opened in 1990, by Mr and Mrs Bailey. On their retirement their daughter Belinda and husband Jon bought the nursery meaning it has remained in the same family for the whole 25 years.
It now has 43 registered children on its books and 10 staff members who supervise youngsters all year round.
Manager Tracey Plowman said: “We’ve decided to do a teddy bear themed picnic because it matches our logo and is an ideal fun way to mark this milestone.”
The nursery is hoping it’s a double celebration as it waits to hear the results of a recent inspection by Ofsted.
The official date for the 25th anniversary of Brunts nursery is on Thursday.
