Open garden season continues next weekend at Whissendine

The green-fingered among you can pick up a few tips from some beautiful gardens which are open to the public in Whissendine on Sunday, May 15.

The Old Vicarage, Number 2, Station Road, opens from 2-5pm as part of the National Gardens Scheme.

It has a fountain courtyard and raised beds backed by small gothic orangery burgeoning with tender plants.

There is also Herbaceous borders, a Wisteria tunnel, vegetable beds, four beehives, a large ornate greenhouse and hen houses.

Admission is £4 for adults and free for children.

Homemade teas will be served nearby in St Andrew’s Church.
