All Melton food events to go ahead this year
Confirmation has been given that all of Melton’s popular food events will go ahead this year, between June and November.
The town’s annual calendar of foodie festivals was wiped out last year because of the ban on public gatherings during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
But with restrictions gradually easing and the prospect of all restrictions being lifted on June 21, organisers are confident that events can be held with thousands of people set to attend.
We reported earlier this week that the Artisan Cheese Fair will be held on the weekend of June 26 and 27, and we
ve now been told this will be followed by PieFest on the weekend of August 7 and 8.
One of the big events will be the East Midlands Food Festival and this is now scheduled for October 2 and 3.
And finally, for all those chocolate lovers, Chocfest will be held on the weekend of November 20 and 21, just in time for visitors to snap up some Christmas gifts.
The British Pie Awards, a trade event for producers which is normally held in March, has been cancelled this year and last year but it will finaly go ahead on September 15, at St Mary’s Church.
