New Leicestershire Covid jab centre to open
A new Covid vaccination centre opens tomorrow (Wednesday) for residents of Leicestershire and Rutland.
People aged 55 and over and those with certain underlying health conditions will be able to book a jab at Loughborough Hospital.
A spokesperson for the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Groups said of the new vaccine venue: “It opened as a centre to vaccinate health and social care staff in early February, but is being repurposed now that the majority of these groups have been protected.”
Appointments will be available at Loughborough Hospital from 8am to 4pm, seven days a week.
The new centre complements other local ones, such as those at Melton Sports Village, Rutland County Council offices in Oakham and the Peepul Centre in Leicester.
