Casualty trapped in wreckage after road collision at Old Dalby

A woman was released from the wreckage by firefighters this morning (Thursday) after her vehicle ended up on its roof following a collision at Old Dalby.

Two crews from Melton attended the incident, which happened at 7.08am on Saxelby Road.

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said: “We were called out after reports of a car being on its roof at Old Dalby.

“A woman was treated at the scene but had no serious injuries.”

The casualty was taken by a crew from East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) to Queen’s Medical Centre, in Nottingham, as a precaution.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “One vehicle was involved in a road traffic collision and a person was trapped.

“The crews released the casualty and handed them over to the care of the ambulance crew.”
